During the research of perspective entomopathogenic fungi, the team of the Institute of Entomology successfully isolated and described a new strain of the genus Cordyceps, related to the commercial species Cordyceps militaris and Cordyceps chinensis, extensively used in Asian medicine. The new strain comes from a regional ecosystem and, like the Asian species, contains a wide range of biologically active substances such as beta-glucans amd nucleosides important for revitalizing and strengthening immunity, and furhtermore, cyclic peptides beauverolides, a promising group of substances with anti-beta-amyloid plaque effects during development of Alzheimer's disease and other possible therapeutic effects useful in the prevention of other neurodegenerative diseases. A technical solution in the form of a natural food supplement was finally developed in cooperation with Mycotech s.r.o. Opava was developed The result follows the RIV / 60077344: / 18: 00496705.
